    Hey everyone,

My name is Robert and I am still fairly new to 3reef and the entire reefing process. If anyone has read any of my earlier posts I just recently started getting into corals (all softies ie mushrooms, zoas, xenia, kenya tree...with the exception of one sps, a purple montipora digita).

Anyways, to get to the point, I would love to add a Foxface Rabbitfish, or perhaps a Scribbled Rabbitfish and would like to know if my tank can handle the bioload.

For filtration and equipment I have a 120 G tank (that I may get drilled for an overflow in the next month or so) with ~100 lbs live rock, ~120lbs live sand, Eshopps hang on the back protein skimmer and 2 Koralia 4's and 1 Koralia 3.

For live stock I have a 4 inch Blue hippo tang, a mated pair misbar oscellaris clowns, 3 green chromis, 1 firefish, 1 diamond goby, and 1 cleaner wrasse. I also have a purple lobster, a sand conch, and a handful of astrea snails and hermit crabs.

My nitrates test at about 10 ppm, nitrites 0, Ph 8.1, ammonia 0, salinity 1.024, temperature 79 f, and I just had my alkalinity and calcium tested at the LFS and they said they were perfect. The tank is about 4.5 months old, and have fought a small battle with cyano but won!

With these parameters and current stocking, could I add a Rabbitfish and have it be happy and thrive in the tank, as well as not over burden the bio load?

Here is a link to some pics of my tank and some of the equipment.

Any input is much appreciated, Thanks.

So it will not overload my bioload?

I dont think so, as long as you have a good skimmer and stay up on your water changes and dont feed a ton you will be fine. A lot of the fish you have are small.

You should be fine. How often do you feed your tank?

I feed twice a day. The first feeding in the morning is merely flake that is soaked in garlic. The second feeding is at night and that is usually some mysis or brine shrimp soaked in garlic. I also feed some nori soaked in garlic for the blue hippo.

I would cut down the feedings to once per day, but thats just my .02

I agree with oceanparadise about the feeding and I would also cut back on the flakes (phosphate producers). From your pics, the rock work is a bit "tight". the only reason I say that is because Fox Faces like to hide/wedge in the rock work to sleep.

I agree with all of the above.. foxface is nice.. very neat fish.
Love at night when it camouflages out and goes black/white and sits in an odd place in the tank.

Nitrates are 10 for some reason though.. cutting down on feedings should solve this. Sounds like have decent flow, i am not keen on that skimmer though.
