    wow interesting thread.
i notice sometimes when im working in my tank for a while ,and when im done my forearms get little bumbs and scratches like something was bitting me. goes away in lil bit thou never last long.
def not my corals stinging me cause when my torch touches my arm i know it(usually ends up with water on the floor, and my wife laughing at me.)lol

i just hit that first link and now im scared to go near my tank. goin to get some thin latex gloves today(unpowdered)

you can get bumps from saltwater bacteria and there is actually a disease that many aquarists have at some point in their life and just dont realize it, i havent heard of any horrible side-affects though

I wear the blue and orange 24" Coralife rubber gloves after finding out that the warts were caused from the tank. I wash my hands with anti-bacterial soap after I have my hands in the water but not for 60 seconds like one of the articles recommends.

no gloves for me. i figure if i was gonna get it, i'd already have gotten it. i been swimming in oceans, marinas, bays and lakes, since a kid, getting cut, bumped and scraped by everything in the water, never had a problem.

    is it only in aquariums?

The bacteria also lives in pools.
