It's an african coris wrasse, it is NOT reef safe as it will eat any and all of your inverts like snails, hermits and anything else it thinks is tasty looking, You may not have a problem when it is small but you will when it is large "and it will get large at 24 inches!!"

Not to be rude but you REALLY should research and know what you are purchasing BEFORE you buy it...

We have been purchasing from this store for over two years now and this is the first time we have had an issue. It has taken quite an interest in an empty clam shell and also a big hermit we have. I don't want it to kill what we have - does it look like a juvenile to u?

Thanks for the help. And I do usually research better - this time we just happened to have a seasoned rep that was helping us at the LFS.

Yes, looks adult, except the white splotches/lines aren't all the way gone yet. So pretty close to full adult.

Also, what size is your tank?

These fish get big and need a lot of space (LA says 180 min.) and they can be quite aggressive.

Right now it is in our 100g. We can't go any larger than that and I think we would have a hard time catching it. :( this might be the beginning of a nightmare.

Do you have a deep sand bed? They require very deep - like 4-5 inches.

Good luck with everything!! I hope it works out.
