    Hey all.

My buddy at work is thinking about starting up a new reef tank. Hes a newbie and he was asking me a couple of questions. But since i am also new to reef's I'm not sure about this one. How do you wash sand? i know the technique is to put the sand in a bucket with a hose at the bottom and letting the water overflow slowly until everything is nice and clear. But my question is with what water do you do this with? Tap water... with all those chemicals in it??? Or is there another way to do it???

    Thanks

    Marc.

I would think that rinsing it with tap water will be fine
