Thanks everyone for your input. At some point I would like to invest in external pumps that I can hard plumb into the sump, I just wasn't sure how you all do it.

I am going to get some of the plastic clamps, lowes had been out of stock so I was putting it off, as I hadn't had any problems until today. Well I'm not dealing with that kind of a disaster again because the lack of a 10cent clamp, so I'll get on that.

Regarding the RO/DI, yes I primed it for 15 minutes and then made about 3 gallons of water that I dumped out before I made any water for my tanks. That's what the directions said so I hope it's good enough because I already added it! :)

    Thanks again everyone!

Just about everyone of my connections is glued PVC. I have been worried about a small leak draining 200+ gallons over night. I spent the better part of a weekend, replacing all of the tubes etc. I found PVC to thread connectors fro my pumps. I had to custom make a few parts. I do have a few parts that are hose with clamps, for those, I doubleup and use 2 clamps on each side. I might be carried away, but I really don't want to create an ocean in the basement. The way I see it, a few extra $$ and I feel safer.

I started to hard plumb everything at one point then I realized that my lack of plumbing skillz were making me crazy and it didn't work out so well. One of the problems I had was connecting the pvc to my pumps properly, they aren't threaded and they're some weird metric size I think. Maybe I can use short pvc flex tubing from them to hose barbs to the hard pvc and hose clamp the flextubing down really good and it will be ok... I don't know what to do, I just don't want another disaster like yesterday.
