    Just purchased a female watanabe angelfish, appears like she should be ok to keep, anyone have any experience with these guys?

    Beautiful fish! I was looking into one of those while searching for a reef safe angel, so they are reef safe.

    They are the same family as the bellus. they are reef safe, and a very nice looking fish. I don't have one yet, but have been researching them for a while now. you can keep them in pairs or 1 male and 2 or 3 females. they can change sexes, usually female to male, but also the other way around if you only have a male. Do a search on genicanthus.

    the place that i purchased it stated I should not have any problems, from what I have researched looks like the are pretty reef safe, well find out, just gotta make sure I keep the guy fed and happy

    just dropped him in, my tomini and yellow are doing a little fin action but he is holding his own, well see how long this lasts
