For any one who is about to give up do to Hair Algae, I have the best fix!

I got a Bali Sea Hare on eBay; it’s the biggest one I have seen.

    Dolabella auricularia

I have a 65 Gallon tank and in 5 days went from clean to almost 75 covered in Hair. Not sure what I did wrong. After many problems, and hard fought war to keep my corals safe. I gave in and bought a Bali Sea Hare, also know as Sea Monster. In less then 2 weeks I am going to the store to by Dried Nori as my tank is 100% free of hair. Best $60 I have spent. Hope i can keep him alive as he is awesome! About 4" long.

What stinks is I lost about 150 stocks of xenia. Only about 20 small ones left. Most of my other corals survived.

I know around here there is a few people that loan their sea hair out to different people to ensure it has enough to eat. watch your pump intakes. I've come home to find sea hairs that have been sucked through a power head

Glad to hear you got the algae taken care of. I will keep that in mind if I run across that problem, nice to let mother nature do it instead of chemicals. Nice to see you back in a thread, where you been Malachi?

My LFS loans them for a small amount when they have a lot in stock. I've tried one before but like J said mine got stuck in a ph. If i remember correctly, if they are stressed to much they can squirt out some kind of chemical ink so watch out for that too.

I only have one maxi jet 1200 with Vent. Adaptor for protein skimmer. It part of HOB Ref.

The rest is done by the Wave 2K which I am not worried about.

I put seaweed in last night and I will see how he is doing. Maybe loan him to my local store tomorrow if he is not eating. Anyone in Erie with Hair!

I have been gone for some time now, longer then I thought. Reason – 8 Month old daughter, holiday, work, pulled chest muscle that me think I was having heart attacks and then Hair Algae made me sad.
