ok ive had my reef for a few years now and have noticed im a bit lazy when It comes to water changes so I am looking in to ways to stay on top of it and was wondering if it would be too much to do a 5 gallon water change every other day thru the work instead of a 10% every week end

ok another lil stupid question ive had problems getting my alk to be stable usually at its lows it is at a 7dkh ive read its better to have it at a 9 to 11 my mag is 1280 to 1300 and calc is 380 to 400 so I don't think is my other parameters out of whack but would the smaller more frequent WC help stabilize this

I would think doing them more frequently would be more labor intensive ?

kinda but not really my r/o system isn't the best as for gpd so when I want to do a water change I got to go to our little water shop by 15 gallons and I just hate doing the running so I figured it would be a lil less running and what not

That is low for Reef Crystals, mixes around 11-12 for me.

How many gallons is the tank? Do you have a lot of stony corals or coralline algae?
