Does anyone have any useful or creative things they do with the bucket full of water after a "water change!" I use my waste water from my RO/DI unit for laundry but I wasn't sure what to do with dirty water change... I am trying to be more green you know...

Not much you can do with saltwater except wash your equipment and filter media out in it. Freshwater you can use on houseplants.

I pour mine in the toilet... I can't think of many uses for salt water. maybe build a tidepool/ marsh in your back yard with some mangroves and put the SW there?

Use it to clean the live rock in the tank, take the rock out, plonk it into the bucket and give it a scrub :)
then I empty it into the bath tub :D

Since the major reason for changing water is to reduce nitrate, it may be possible to keep a nitrate-removing tank. The old water is treated with mangroves and macroalgae until a decent amount of nitrate is removed then reuse the water. Of course, someone has to come up with the amount of time and macroalgae needed for nitrate treatment. Since most of us are dosing trace elements, it should not be a problem. Just a thought.
