    Hi all.

Could some one explain to me how a water change tank works and how it would be plumbed into a setup ?

    Thanks.

Ok what happens is you have your RO/DI water go into one tank and fill it up. (Many factors is how many GPD your ro puts out and how big the holding tank is). Then when your ready to mix saltwater you open the valve bringing RO water into a seperate mixing tank. Here you can put powerheads and/or heaters to get the water just right! Then when its actually ready to do a water change, you can pump water out of your existing tank by; a. adding a T into your existing sump pump, or just add a new pump for water changes. When water is out of the tank (to a desired level) you open the valve bringing newly mixed/heated water into your tank.

    automatic re-fil

    HI,
i ve seen a couple that have automatic refils they use a switch in the sump that allow water to flow till it reaches the preset shut off.
wow super neat. kind of pricy though best to have fail safes to prevent flooding.
I haven't decided on a tank yet I could put in in my coat closet thats directly under the stair well behind the tanks, a well placed hole in the wall and the tank in the closet, then I need a ro system over the tank it just keeps growing into a biger project. And did I mention the cost.

PS I do have a water line in the closest its my cut off for the front water line to prevent it from freezing in the winter, I could tap in to the water line with a simple ice maker line and add the RO/ system lets see all I need now is 500 Bucks.. hehe
