water change

    how much of a water change should i do once my tank has cycled on my 125 gallon tank?

    any1 that can help me with this would be much appreciated;D

    What benefit do you think you would get by changing any of the water out?

    15 to 20% bi-weekly is what i do--works for me!!!

    ok cheers but i ment after my tank has cycled should i not do one big water change to start off fresh! then do 15 - 20% bi-weekly

    to me it would depend on how high the nitrates are, if there not high(over 20 or so, whats high varies on livestock ofcourse), i would just skip the change because corals havent used up any elements in there yet.

    that being said a fuge or coil denitrator or dsb is a better nitrate removal tool then a change but you might not have those

    ok all thanks for the info but i ment after my tank has cycled without any fish in the tank should i do a big water change then?

    see my previous comments it still applys as you have no corals yet hopefully.

    Read the other post on water changes--Highly debated--I notice alot more clarity the day after my partials--Never have lost a fish and my corals look good--Others have the same kind of success without the changes. I like doing them--keeps me involved--I will hate the day I run out of things to do. But I really do notice a difference in water clarity.
