water changes & how often - just seeing what everyone else does

Just curious as to what everyone else does since i know everyone is different

how often do you do water changes and how much?

 

I really do it when my Nirtates are past 0. same with nitrite and ammonia. And sometimes if i wanna get my calc back up.

 

i do mine every sunday like clock work salt water still mixing from friday

 

I do 20% every 2 weeks

 

I do 10% weekly.

 

some people just dose like everything. (trace,calcium,iodine,mag,etc..) as long as your nitrates and such are under control.. I'm lazy.. but I will start doing 1 monthly 25%+ water change now that I got the reef going..

 

I change 15gallons out of a 75 every week to ten days. I start mixing salt water 2 days before a change, this has worked well for me. I rotate deep cleaning tasks and coincide with water changes.

 

I did monthly 10 Gallon changes before SPS. Now 5 Gallon weekly.

60 Gallon system total

 

5 - 10% per week.

 

5-10% weekly. Early on, after the initial cycle, we were doing 5% twice a week. Now we just do once a week....and always on Sundays....once a month, good maintainence.
