Water chemistry question - fluoride, chlorine and VOCs

I am hoping with the extensive research in water chemistry someone can help me.

I live in an apartment with high amounts of chlorine in the water. The smell of chlorine is very strong after pouring a fresh glass of water.

I want to find a shower water filter that allows for high flow of water, hot or cold effective in removing chlorine, fluoride and VOCs.

After doing google search I have found arguments for both sides of the Vitamin C vs KDF-55 water filters for shower heads. None of these filters claim to remove fluoride. Why is that non of these can remove fluoride? These two technologies seems to be the big players in the shower water filter market.

Here are some arguments against Vitamin C filters I have found... I know some of these just cant be true!!! But I am not a chemist.
1. Vitamin C + Water = Acid
2. Vitamin C are only effective in cold water thus not good for showers

Here are some negative things I found about KDF-55 filter material
1. KDF55 leaches more toxic heavy metals that are not good for you
2. KDF55 only filters 80% of chlorine from the water.

Here is my current setup: I just said oh well, 2 is better than one... so I bought both Vitamin C and KDF55 water filter.

1st in my shower is the Vitamin C shower filter.

2nd, connected to the output of the Vitamin C filter is a KDF55 filter. Why does this say "Not available in CA" is this banned in California??? :-[

Why do you want to remove them? None of them pose a problem in a shower.
If you want to remove someting in a shower it would be radon which could pose a problem.

Granular activated carbon will remove chlorine and VOCs but fluoride is a different issue.

I am still at a loss as to why it concerns you? If it were drinking water I could understand it but not for a shower, save your money and shower away.
