    " If its not broken dont fix it " If thats not hitting the nail on the head! Before I dove, I mean really dove into having all kinds of corals, life was really simple. Now that my ecosystem has gotten complex, Ive tested for things that I cant even pronounce and dont even get me started on the parameters and what level they should be on. For ex.
    Cal.......400-500
    Dkh.......14.-16.
    Alk.........5.0-5.70
    Mag.......1400-1500
    Ph.........8.3 etc..etc.....
    For the past couple of months I've tried to meet those numbers and it has been a roller coaster ride to say the least . Now I know how a dog feels when he trys to chase his tail. Not only has my wallet diminished, Ive lost a couple of hairs on my head too:eek: My corals have suffered too, I dont see them that happy or extending out as they should. So I decided a couple of weeks ago to stop adding additives and let the level come down a little, Just simple water changes. My water chemistry now is as follows;
    Cal......400-420
    Dkh.....8-12
    Alk......2.86-4.30
    Mag....1200-1300
    Ph.......8.0-8.2
    What a difference that little drop has made. My corals look better, even some of my zoo's that hasnt opened up in months started too open up. And of course, less work for me. In my case, I dont see the point of having all those numbers so high and going crazy trying to reach them and spending all kinds of money. I know every system is different and everyones techniques will differ, but I just wanted to share my exp. with you guys and maybe help someone else out there suffering the same symptoms as I did. I can relate and agree.

    When I became less stressed out over a lot of similar stuff my tank became a lot less stressed and looks much better also.

    You are right! Its so much easier to take care of too!!!

    Simple water changes is all it takes. Take all those additives out to the dumpster. :p
