    Hmmm, I thought it was 10x, and, through the sump??? So, one does 4x-5x though the bottom (if you hava one) skimmer/refug/sump and back to the tank, then, a few PH's to stir around the water in the tank and have them do another 5x-8x ?

    it all depends as stated earlier. For example: In my softie tank I have about 25 times circulation about 5 times volume through sump.
    In my sps dominated tank I have about 60 x turnover with 5 x through sump.
    It all depends on what you are keeping. SPS love high flow so they do great with alot of circulation but if I put some of my softies in that tank, they would get ripped apart.
