    Well you have plenty of real estate for bacteria in the DT

    Dont remove all the sump rock at the same time
    because at present , some of your beneficial bacteria is on the rock in the DT
    and some is on the rock in the sump

    and I dont know what percentage is in which location

    so remove about 25% of the rock by volume each week for 4 weeks

    that way the bacteria has a chance to increase in number to compensate for the bacteria you remove with the rock you take out
