Depends on what type filter you have at your house ? Many whole house units are water treatment units not filters .

Is it the single canister that came with a bracket that you insert a new sediment or carbon aka Taste and order in to the sinks cold water line ? if so nope won't do .. Unless it has 2 of the prefilter chambers and a R/O housing with a membrane inside ?

Thats what I figured you had one holds 10 or 5 mic. sediment filter the 2nd canister holds a 20 to 10 micron Carbon filter , If so that will not do as a water source for a reef tank or any tank really . You need to get a R/O housing and a membrane to connect to that then you would be good to go.. But what you have now has 3/4 MIP taps and you would have to busimng that down to 1/4 in MIP. You may be better off just looking at somthing lkike this http://www.buckeyefieldsupply.com/showproducts.asp?Category=163&Sub=103 and adding a D/I at a later time if loot is a problem ? Like I told someone earlier a few bell and whistles aside there is no difference between a high dollar or low dollar unit they are all the same inside.

No Sir I have installed a few hundred of them for commercial ice and coffee makers and such , This is what you need is something like this R/O their is a 15.00 less under the economy series and you can had a D/I later if need be. or you can look at the R/O D.I combination units as well, A fish tank is 100% water and if you start with the best water you can then you will have less troubles and worries later on.

Yes its a good unit as they are about all are the same on the inside except for the GPD ratings and unless you need a hell of a lot of water ? I got by with a 50 GPD myself used to be a 100 when she got it and until I changed the membrane and the rejection water capillary . Make sure you get the auto cut off with it..
