I have two power heads plus the return from my skimmer. What sort of placement should I be going for? I have heard to put the powerheads on either side of the tank and point them towards each other. I also heard to agitate the surface. So does that mean I should have a powerhead on either side at the top of the tank pointing towards each other and blowing at the surface? Does that get to all of the lower corners of my 55 gal tank? Or should I change the placement? Does this get behind the live rock or should I add another powerhead? I have a Koralia 1 and 3 plus whatever is coming out of the skimmer. Thanks and sorry I'm new so I don't really have any idea for optimum tank setup.

I have 2 powerheads a HoB filter and a HoB protein skimmer.

I personally have my heads flowing over my rock from either side. My HoB filter seems to move the the water ontop enough to me. I personally dont like the brand you got. In my opinion they are way overrated but, you should be fine. If you are just setting it up I would just run it tell you start to see Cynobacteria or somthing them move the heads so more flow goes to those area's.

Also trust your judgement. I almost bought the same brand of Powerheads you have because everyone said they were awsome. I went to my LFS and got to plus them in under the water to see how much the actually flow and RIO was the best hands down. Just my 2 cents.

It very difficult to tell you where to put as the arrangement of your rock and size of tank play a big role in your flow. I like to have one ph pointed to the surface to agitate the water and then point the other one down. Just place them, and try to avoid dead spots by moving them if needed.
