lights off a few days 3 or 4 may help clear it up but there must be other factors at play here as well nitrates or phosphates or both to high.

I do weekly water changes. I use Ro water that has been ultra violetd clean. I did use about 5gallons of ocean water. I was going to convert to ocean water. Im not sure if it was from my move. I came from new york to florida might have had alot of die off that contributed to it.

Run a reactor with Activated Carbon in it, that will clear it up. I run one that I change out every 30 days and the water is crystal clear.

Might be the ocean water not shore have you tested your water lately? about 25 years ago i had green water in a salt water fish only tank and turned my lights off for about a week and it cleared up for me. but there are 3 things that feed alga growth thats lights, nitrates, phosphates.

Is your tank in direct sunlight?

Regardless of whether you use RO water, have you tested that water, and what is the TDS reading on that water, and is it simply RO or RO/DI?

Cut your lights for a few days, introduce heavy chemical filtration (activated carbon / polyfilters), and continue doing water changes during this time.

Its not in direct sunlight but the room it is in does get some sun light in it. The water I get is ro/di and it reads 000 on the tds meter. The ph is 8.1, salinity is 1.025. I haven't done any other tests yet but I will get to that right away.

Well it's not the sunlight thang. Indirect is not a problem. Hmmmmmm. Don't know. I will pay attention to this thread though.
