Good afternoon everyone! I have a noobie question.... I need to make sure I have my water intake pipe in a good location. How should I have it placed, what kind of water flow do I need around it, or will my power heads move the water around enough to get good filtration. I have some live rock near it, will this impeed filtration any?

If I'm missing anything please let me know! Thanks everyone!

Will this be fore a sump? If so, I would suggest 7-12X turnover rate. So if this display tank was 100g, go with 700-1200gallons per hour.

Your powereheads are not filtration, but for water flow/surface agitation. Surface agitation will create breaks in surface tension, thus bringing more oxygen into you water column.

A good location for your overflow box would be the back, left or right(either) corner of the display tank. I would suggest the return line(back to DT) to be in the opposite corner of the tank.

This is a canister filter, a fluval 305 to be exact. I have a 26 gallon tank, and the filter is rated for 70g so i have plenty of filtration. Im wondering if the intake is in a good poisition in a corder, or if i need to position it more in the center

Ok, well I would do the same for the overflow/return lines. If you can, put each in the opposite, back corners.
