LOL - I wish I could make it in an hour! I make up 40 gallons per week - so when I make the water its a 10-12 hour deal. At this kind of time its real easy to foget :)

I use the microwave timer as a primary. I set up my bucket to fill on top of the washing machine incase it overflows then it will fill the washing machine. As a last resort I stick a piece of RO tubing in my door jam to the front door so I see it before I leave. I have had a few floods so I learned my lesson.

glad to see we've all leaked water :) i too had serious overflow problems with my RO resevoir i was using. i had the 1/4 airline hose fall out of the bucket while i was away, ive had the waste water line (when it wasnt secured properly) leak all over the floor for a good 6 hours, and countless other catastrophes all related to the friggin RO unit.

i then bought float valves and just rely on those. ill turn the RO/DI unit on/off manually and just let the float valve stop it when it reaches the top. ive had a float valve stick and not shut the unit off too so i still keep a alarm on my phone to let me know when i should check the thing. seems theres never enough redundancy to stop the water from hitting the floor :)
