    Hello,
It seems that I have to drop in about a liter of FW to the tank every day, is that normal for a 55gal?

Drip in ? Just pour it in I make a level mark on on the sump where I want to keep the level then a mark about a inch above and below the main mark then just add enough every day or two the keep in between the marks But if thats all you add then you are lucky.

I'm not because I have it set up auto top off and RO but its a lot because I run from a 33 gallon RO reservoir.

Yes just pour it in.. Here in Ct with the lower Humidity level of the air we blast through 3 to 4 gallons a day from evaporation from lamp heat cooling Fans and sump being 40 feet away in the basement and all the sump agitation in there plus a air stone pushing all the time. I have this one on a auto float as a back up safety for low water and the main is a 24 v. solenoid that is normal water level control and that is direct fed from the R.O/D.I
just as the float is and all the main water passes through a Kalk reactor 24/7 hand filling is out of the question I'm lazy LOL

But on a small hand filled like we had for awhile I just make the three marks on the sump top mark at 6 inches mid mark at 5 inches and bottom limit mark at 4 inches these depend on your pump set up But you get the idea and I fill it to the top mark and again at the Mid mark.. if it got to the low mark the pump would let me know.. Relative humidity of the house dictates the amount of evaporation you have . And the Tape or magic marker lines where a good visiual reference to fill by.
