    I've used every brand at one time or another. Since you have identified why the bloom was triggered, why don't you use the free method from the thread. Use the lights out method for a couple of days, clean those sponges more often, and see what happens. (Your corals will be fine....I promise. Storms happen out at sea too where they don't get light for several days).

    lol inwall, i just removed the sponges completely, I run a sock every now and then, and from what you said, a uv sterilizer can be a great tool. Plus its not like I didnt want to get a couple more powerheads and was seriously considering pick up a sterilizer anywau.

    A turbo-twist works very well and takes up little room for what it accomplishes.

    Wow, that is cloudy.. When I was running my remora skimmer, one day the pump fell off and started blowing into the sand. Stirred up all kinds of crap. Maybe something similar happened in your case. All powerheads accounted for and not pointing into the sand?

    i had alot of detritus in the return section of my sump that got dumped into the water before i could stop it. Thats definently what happened to cause it.

    Good news guys. I swaped the GFO in my reactor and added carbon and as of tonight its crustal clear again!!! I have about an inch of GHA grown though too lol
