I need more water movement for my 90 reef. I don't like powerheads as if/when the seal brakes it can stress the fish. Any suggestions?

If you have a sump, you could get a nice strong pump and have multiple returns on it. You could place them at different ends/places of the tank.

I already actually have that, but if I turn the pump up it drains the sump into the tank and starts spewing microbubbles. Good idea though.

they are use for wave makers, it circulate water indirectly 360º from around it self and disperse it out on a wide area, the flow is not as direct is more diffused,,, anybody? that's the best that I can explain it.

Closed loops work great but require multiple holes drilled in the tank for intake and return as well as another large pump.

I'm going with a single Ecotech Marine MP40W it's a type of powerhead but has an integrated wavemaker and the part with electronics is outside the tank, the only part in the tank has no power it's driven magnetticaly through the glass
