I would like to get more water movement in my tank. Right now all I have in my 55gal is an over-the-side power filter, a protein skimmer, and a powerhead in the corner aimed into the center of the tank. I still get a lot of stagnant areas all across the bottom of the tank. I was thinking of getting the Lifegard Customflo water system and using it with a switching current water director to draw in from the center of the tank, then switch output from the left corner to the right corner. I realize I'll need a water pump for this, but does this sound like something that will work?

i have the return pump going at 780gph returning with 2 nozzles and 2 powerheads and its almost to much.you could put 2 powerheads in there and be fine.you could put them facing the front so it reflects off the glass and all over the tank

I plan on removing the powerhead if I go with this setup. Its being used for the UV light mostly and I'll end up putting it in the pump loop.

Anything you can do to increase the water flow will benefit your inhabitants!
Positioning the powerhead to bank of the glass will afford your powerhead to disperse water flow over a greater area than if just directing it across the pelagic areas of your tank, in my opinion!

Well, with the pump and the hardware it looked about $250 all together.
