Looking for ideas on how to store RO water / saltwater, to keep it aerated and ready for use. I've seen some folks with blue barrels holding water, others with trash cans. What would the best option for this be? If you use a barrel, where did you get it? If a trash can works, what's the best (safe) plastic trash can to use that's strong enough to hold that much water?

    Thanks guys.

Rubbermaid makes a line of trash cans called "Brute" these are foodsafe and will be fine to use with your RODI water. :)

Most excellent. Lowes / Home Depot have them? They're strong enough to fill nearly all the way with water and it won't crack or burst?

I use them, and have for a long time. There is also a class you can take thats like two hours long here in Tampa and you can get a free rainbarrel which are even nicer. I can get the info for you from a friend of mine that works at the aquarium.

I have been wanting to figure this out too. I was thinking about going to tractor supply and see what they have. But I expect it is not cheap. I am leaning towards trash cans. But I have to get a larger r/o unit first.

Leaning towards one of the Brute cans myself. Looks cheap and easy.

I use an 18 gallon rubber made plastic storage container. I think I bought it at Target.

I'm just really wanting something with a flat bottom so the salt or additives wont be able to hide in places. I want to be able to hook a pump to the cans and pump the water to my 265g. with salt and r/o. I am sure someone here has a setup. I dont know if it is better to use two containers or one.

We keep ours in a 35 gallon rubbermaid Brute also. Our kalk is kept in one too and has been for over 2 years. It's still in perfect condition. I highly recommend those.
