I have a film again on the surface of my water. My water tension is amazing so I have no idea where this oily buildup is from??? I have even used the paper towel method to remove it and that didn't work.

You need to make a skimmer box for your cannister filter.. Thats why I never just drill a tank and put a simple bulkhead for the drain to sump like so many LFS and even hobbyist do there is no surface skimming and thats where all the oils and oily waste go to..Household grease and oils also that acculimate from cleaning and cooking. and smoking .

I used to get that from time to time, but I put a little more water flow on the surface and it disappeared after that.

frozen food often have gel binders in it and can increase serface film.the best way is a surface skimmer or overflow.you can also aim a jet at the surface to blow it away.

They make a surface skimmer for the Remora... it's pretty big though but worth checking out.
