Just wanted to know where you guys set the temp for your tanks. I am just starting the tank and i have it set at 76. Just wondering what is best for reef tanks. I don't have any fish or corals in yet just sand and rock.

    Thank you in advance/

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Ball park range seems to be 76-80. Give or take a degree either way you should be good.

    :)

Just make sure you keep it stable when you get it to where you want it

Decide what you want to keep in the tank. Research where it comes from in the wild and the temperature range where it comes from. And then you have your target temperature. But, constant temperature is way more important than a particular number is. A constant 78 is a lot better than one that fluctuates from 79 to 83 even if the inhabitants come from an average temperature of 81.

For me, I am just getting back in but when I got out, 81 was where I kept it and it took heaters out the ying tang to keep it there in Florida. I kept my AC set on 72 degrees (I get hot easy) and trying to keep a tank at 81 degrees in a room that is 72 degrees is not the easiest thing in the world to do.

75-82 is okay...82 is getting high side, but it is safe for reefs. 75 is pretty low, but my 14g stays at 76 to 75 and looks great.
