irr0001, I was on DS&F site earlier looking at that refractometer. Glad to hear that I probably don't have to spend a hundred bucks on one of those to get quality.

MoJoe, thanks for the info and the links. I think the filter rig I purchased comes with a TDS testing device.

I haven't researched salt choices yet but I'll have to soon- I hope. I hadn't thought of a heater for the reserve water. I will be keeping my filter in the garage. I have no idea what temp that water will keep at in Miami during the summer. I might actually need a chiller.

I'm glad you mentioned the container because I have been wondering what I should use and what I should clean it with prior to storing water in it. I figured I should keep a small pump running in it to keep the water from getting stagnant as well.

I have no knowledge of the reactor you mentioned but I'm going to read up on that tonight. I'm mainly just trying to get a good idea if what I need to start and purchasing as much as I can each week. It's not something I want to rush or have any uncertainties about. Thanks for the advice.

No prob, before I started my FOWLR I had a checklist of all the things I needed also, it helped a ton. K+ for your pre-planning & responsible reefing :), look forward to seeing your tank come together, keep us updated!
