    Hey Everyone,

I have purchased a few frags of soft corals for my 24g aquapod over the last month or so. I have blue and devil's armor zoas, orange and pink ricordias, green rhodactis, pulsing xenia and a devil's hand leather.

So far everything looks great and is adapting well to the tank. They have good color and are opening (day) and closing (night). However, I want to make sure that I provide them with the proper water parameters and that I am not deficient in certain minerals.

I hear that it is generally good to keep an eye on things like iodine, magnesium, calcium, etc. So, here are my questions:

    1. With just having soft corals, should I be worried about these elements?
    2. Should I get a test kit? If so, are there any reco's?
    3. Will my salt add these back in at sufficient levels for softies or will it be necessary to supplement?

    Thanks

You should be OK with weekly water changes for softies.

SPS and clams will require the big 3 kits. LPS will if you have a lot of them.

With just the soft corals you shouldnt have to worry too much. However, I would still test or have test kits on hand just in case. Salifert is a good brand. If you are using a quality salt these elements should be replenished through regular waterchanges.
