    You need to wait until your Ammonia and Nirtrites are Zero before you add any fish or coral. It really isn't a measuremetn of time.
    Also if you plan on adding LR in stages the Rock will cycle the tank each time it is added. You just have to wait it out until your Ammonia and Nitrites are 0

    Even if its just a few pieces of rock? (I want to add a few more small pieces to fill in the top of my "mound" :)

    I would put the new pieces in a bucket with SW and airstone, a heater and small power head. Have it cycle in a seperate bucket and then when it has cycled 100% add it to your show tank.
