I started buying my "stuff" today, tank, heater, powerheads etc. But can't figure out where I can buy RO water. I've never bought it before so not sure where to look or what to look for!

    Any suggestions?

Why not buy an RO unit? Your lfs doesn't carry ro water?

LFS, find a good one you can trust, and in my recomendation go to a few different LFS' if you have the option, buy a gallon or 2 each, take them home and check them for NO2, NO3 and PO4 if they register any traceable amount of any of those 3, then rule that LFS out of the places to buy water

The local grocery store should have it in the water machine. Kroger, Martins, Martins, Meijer & Wal*Mart all have it. Just prepare to make a few trips!!!

edit: That should suffice until you buy an ro/di unit. I still haven't gotten one yet but it's definitely on the top of the reef keeping priority list!

I'm betting she has the same issue I do where I have nowhere to store water besides in my tank
I lug 15 gallons of ro a week for my 90 gallon

I think that is the case, I don't think she has many lfs's to choose from and one of the best and closest is near me, which doesn't sell ro/di water, although thy do sell the systems for an insane amount more than you can buy them for online!

    Thanks BC

After I read you message to me I looked at the stuff on the shelves and none said RO, but I didn't check the disperser water, I have a Meijers I can go to.

I'd love to install an RO, just not this week! The LFS in my town is not to be trusted, he'd advise me to just use tap, just like he does!

OH and speaking of LFS's I drove to a nearby community that had more saltwater equip and I was ready to drop $1000.00 but the customer service was so poor I had to walk, the only person that was qualified was the son's owner and he didn't want to come back after lunch to answer some questions. Oh well there loss.

right now I get mine at the local grocery store, I have 4 three gallon jugs I fill up every week.(can't wait to get my own ro/di unit). You can also get it at walmart, not sure if every walmart has a ro/di machine though.

If it's the lfs in michigan city, I can't remember the name of it, but I've heard bad things. You ought to take the trip out here to midwest corals. Not sure what you are actually looking to purchase but I'd get your tank & substrate at petsmart or something cause it's cheaper, then if you want a filter, a wet/dry or something I'd go to the lfs here and pick it up, they're educated and everything is good quality.

As far as the water goes, the only ro water is from the water machine. It's not ro/di, just ro, but it will work till you can get a ro/di unit.
