    The problem with purchasing water, no matter the source, is you have no control over its quality and have no idea unless you invest in a TDS meter.

    More often than not the LFS has contaminated their water storage by dipping used dirty buckets in it or not covering the vessel. I 30 years of saltwater and reef keeping I have only found a couple reliable sources and even those have their moments.

    RO vending machines do not fall under any health regulations in most areas so be very cautious. Plus RO by itself is only 90-98% efficient so it will not be 0 TDS as with RO/DI.
    generally if I must buy, I buy distilled water as it will usually be close to 0 TDS. The often mentioned copper is not usually a problem as copper coils were eliminated from stills years ago in favor of glass or epoxy lined exotic metals.

    Az has it covered when it somes to water so I'd take his suggestions if possible. I also think that any thread on water quality should be closed by mods after he responds cause there is no need to go any further lol.
