    I'm going with 2 vortech mp40w's on my 75. Here's a video of one mp40w on a 90, you can see the height of the wave in the beginning. (I'm not sure how to fancy link the video inline :) )

    If you're just going with a single powerhead with the vortech you don't need an external controller to do waves or controllable flow patterns. Although I think you can get a tunze 6105 (comparable flow gph-wise) and the single controller for about the same price as an mp40w, or the tunze might come out slightly ahead depending on where you get it.

    I'm a big fan of the vortech's reef crest mode though, very random flow for one powerhead and such a small footprint in the tank, plus no added heat and all the electricity is outside the tank.

    That's pretty much my reasoning anyway. YMMV!
