I'm looking to make some waves for my reef. I don't know what is necessary though. Any suggestions?

Heres the catch. I want to use it on my 20 gallon tank before I upgrade to the 40 gallon tank. Which could be a year for all I know. Can a tank controller act as a wave maker?

I have two coralia nano power heads

Don't want to spend more than $200.

That was my initial thought, however, something like the Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper Lite might be better for you in the long run. It is a full Aquarium Controller, and you can add to it as you need, rather than buying a Wavemaker controller that allows you to only do 2 powerheads, and no alternate functions.

The Smartwave can do more than only 2 powerheads.
The 2 outlets support up to 100w meaning you can add adapters to allow more powerheads. The Hydor Koralia Magnum 7 is only 12w.

Although if you are only going to be using 2 powerheads, the RKL may suit you better for $50 more.

I think the reef keeper lite seems like the best way to go. the Koralia smart wave controller does exactly what I want and is only $70 bucks, but the reef keeper lite does so many more things!

Maybe someone can help me pick out a RKL model though. I don't understand what I actually get for all the different "packages" there are. Or what I need to make it do what I want. I just want a reef keeper lite that will act as an automatic top off, wave maker, and I guess a pH reader. What do I need to make all that happen???
