way off topic question...people selling gift cards for lower cost...why

    very odd question I know...but why do you think people would sell gift cards at a discount price on Craigslist, esp when they will meet you at the store to verify the amount?

    I have contacted someone on craigslist to see why he is offering a 900 lowes gift card for 230. I am interested of course because we are going to be finishing the basement plus I would like to install laminate upstairs. He is willing to meet me at my Lowes to verify it with customer service today before I purchase it

    The first thing popped into my mind, is that the card isnt worth that much...but then he wouldnt go to the store to verify it. Second was that it was stolen...however I still dont think he would go to the store to verify it for me.

    I will not be going to meet him by myself (as I am a female) however was wondering what others thought and if anybody ever did this before

    I was thinking the same 2 things as you at first,but it could possibly be that he is THAT hard up for some cash.
