I looked at a ruby red feather star here a few months ago. My LFS basically told me if I bought it it would die. (Hoping that wasn't in reference to my fish keeping). Anyhow, he said they are extremely difficult to keep and wouldnt really recommend it. Plus if I recal, it was very pricey.

They require a specialized diet that we can't provide. But why would anyone LFS have one and not sell it.

I see where your coming from, he may have sold it to someone else who was less concerned about fish/aquatica homicide than I was. I hate the idea of killing anything, and don't have the time or the extra money to spend on the special foods. Also he knew I'd just feel guilty if I killed it. They are a pretty decent LFS, and he didn't say he wouldn't sell it, just helped me weigh the options before I bought it.

He didn't purchase it that I'm aware of, if I recal some other idiot like me bought it, then brought it in to him because he didn't know what to do with it. Lol, that's what I remember at least.

I have begun collecting corals for my build and housing them in my 500. I received a group of millies. I am looking to also purchase a yellow, blue, and purple slimers if available. So here's what I got:

Oh yea. The skimmer came in and it's in the break in phase. I got a Eshopps PSK-150. First cyber Monday order I ever did and I got it for a steal. Also received pods from Doctor Ecosystems and received a free phytoplankton for every bottle of pods. 30 more days and I should have the lights and transfer the corals over.

Thanks. I'm only dealing with private vendors. Only one lfs has been good but buying from people is better.

Thanks DSC. I finally grew patience. It'll be a couple years if all goes well. But I can't wait either.
