We want $1.05 and the last hour of our lives back

So we passed the Redbox on the way out of the grocery store and saw that Paranormal State just came out today (we didnt see it in the theatre because we werent sure it was worth paying $22 to see). Anyhow everyone said it was great and super scary and that we had to get it. Just got done watching and wow it sucked. This ranks right up there with Strangers for being stupid and just plain funny. The only thing we have seen in the last 10 years worse than this movie was Open Water, but Paranormal State is a very close second. Did anyone else waste the cash on this movie after believing all of the hype? We would have had better luck watching HSN for an hour or so.

Your the first person I ahve ever heard say it was a bad movie...I dont think I ever would ahve watched it anyway, but now I'm deffinately not going to lol

 

I saw it at the movie theater and I wasn't impressed

 

Maybe it was the people I went with that made it exciting or the ultrascreen with the massive speakers. I enjoyed the movie. For how cheaply it was made and how basic the movie was, I liked it. But I also went with three girls that had me on the edge of my seat. If I would've watched this movie in my living room with the lights on, I would've probably said it sucked too. But the people I went with made it worth while. A few people I know loved it and were scared ****less, a few people said the same as you, that it was a huge hilarious waste of time.

 

We just watched it not the least bit impressed my tank got more att than the tv did lol

 

I haven't seen this movie and don't plan to, but I just wanted to add that the worst scary/thriller movie ever made is Cabin Fever.

 

Haha this one beats Cabin Fever by a mile. We honestly thought it was going to be a great movie considering the hype and how much it made in theatres. Everyone had us under the impression it was real footage (or at least based in real events) and that we wouldnt sleep for a week. Turns out its a pretty decent way to put yourself to sleep. It was a great idea for a movie but was carried out horribly and was way to predictable.

 

it had a slow start and left a lot to the imagination, which ending did you see on the video? (trying not to spoil this for anyone thats not seen it) I heard the theatrical ending was WAY more creepy than the dvd version. I kinda liked paranormal activity but it did get a little slow at times . . . it was more of a first person/suspense/thriller than a true horror flick, so those looking for a hack and slash were left wanting more.
