    Hey guys,
I am still cycling through some very light algae but in the meantime I'm having trouble identifying this black, mucus like stuff on my rock. Also there are little white dots that cling to the glass and I can't figure out what they are. We do have two turbo snails and several scarlet crabs along with a cleaner shrimp. your help is appreciated.

If the white dots are hard, they are likely a spirorbid polychaete. It's a harmless featherduster worm.

I haven't checked if they are hard but will do so today. Thanks on that.

your "black mucus" might be a very dark colored cyano outbreak...what kind a of flow u got in the tank? R U using RODI water? Keeping up on ur water changes?

as far as the little white things on the glass it could be copepods and such..

I've done one change at 10% but it hasn't grown since. The tank is only 4 1/2 weeks old. I am using salt water for changes from the store and their water for evaporation.
