okaayyy? i agree in some cases a percula/ocellaris will go years without being hosted in a tank full of anemones. what im saying if it starts hosting the bubble coral, chances are it will eventually transfer to the bta.

Clowns will host in whatever they feel like hosting in.

I just added an extreme Snow Onyx and an extreme Black Ice to my personal tank about 2-3 weeks ago. Just a couple of days ago they started to host in my LPS. Moving from 2 torches, to 2 frownspawns, to a hammer, to a 25 head duncan.

The clowns will host what they want and it does not or may never be an anem.

You think that's weird? One of my clowns holds the piece of food in its mouth half sticking out and swims around with it like a dog with a bone.

they definitely have odd behavior. What do people think of adding a maroon clown to my tank with the 2 ocellaris? I'm thinking a gold stripe maroon.....bad idea, maybe, no way...and reasons? I know that they can become aggressive but it would be going in as among my last fish. The two clowns I have are pretty established. I think the BTA "WOULD HOPEFULLY HOST" the maroon.

I say go for it. I added my first maroon with 2 oc clowns without any fighting. They all hung out and slept in the same area. I'm sure everyone will have different opinions but you nrver know until you try. Both of my maroons and my gold stripe never battle and they all share the BTA. Good luck :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Nope, nope and nope.

    Reasons:

1: You have 2 established clowns.
2: The size of your tank.
    3: Maroon clown?
4: Is it really worth the possible aggression created down the road?

Yes BTA are a natural host of Maroons, as Carpets are of Ocellaris, so get one or the other but do not tempt fate.

Just google "Clown fish natural anemone host charts".

Reason 5: I would not do it.
