I have in my tank some weird living organisms that I thought were specks of coraline algae starting to grow on the glass, but it falls off easy with a wipe and I have noticed them on my corals where coraline algae does not grow, they are around 2/3 mm in length and very flat, light pink any ideas?

    Thanks

    Nope.

They can become very invasive and cover corals to the point that the corals are unable to preform gas exchange efficiently, along with prevent to some degree penetration of light to the coral tissue in extreme cases.

With all the said, there are many many different types of FW. Some are photosynthetic, some actually consume corals and some are totally harmless.

What they may all have in common is the unfortunate tendency to release toxins at the time of death. In a tank with an extensive population this has to be taken into consideration when using such products as Flatworm Exit.

The best thing you can do now is you figure out specifically what type of FW you have, decide on a treatment plan and remove them manually when appropriate.

At the bottom of this link you will find FWs.

It's all a moot point until you have an exact ID if they are indeed FW.

    Good Luck. :)
