It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Is that clown holding it fins clamped like in the image?

Can you do a water change to provide some relief for the fish?

i am making water as we speak. i think the ammonia is from the skimmer being off.

    Is this the 180 gallon?

You should probably have some ammonia binding products on hand until you get a handle on the source of the ammonia. I have never had detectable ammonia when I turned off my skimmer or removed it.

As far as the white line no idea. I imagine the fish is compromised though and could benefit from Melafix with some Selcon. Hopefully once the ammonia level drop the fish will come around. Does not look like a parasite.

    Sure no problem.

Once the 180 gallon gets settled is will be easier.

And you're right, some clowns take a few to several days to begin eating initially.

so i found the reason of my ammonia spike i think.
a dead cardinal sally light foot crab is eating it, should i try and get it out or just let them do there job. could the crab have killed him cause he was doing fine or appeared to be doing fine.

The white mark *might* be an ammonia burn. Or perhaps the clown scratched himself on a rock or something and left a mark. The ammonia could definitely stress your clownfish that much if exposed long enough. Also, remember that it could have been a lot higher before you noticed and tested for it.

I'm not sure how fast a Light crab is, but usually IME, when you see a crab, or something that is part of your CUC eating a fish is because it had died ( or was dying) already from something else.
