So, my pseudo does this weird behavior and I'm wondering if anyone knows why he does this. He's a red head elegant pseudo, if that makes a difference.

In one corner of the tank, he goes and picks up piece by piece of the sand (my granules are medium sized), carries each piece of sand to this one specific spot about two inches from where he picked it up, and then spits it out. So in the corner he has made a big hole, and then two inches away from it is a big hill.

He only does it in the same spots, and it's just weird! He's been doing it for several months. Any ideas about this behavior? I'm just really curious!

    Thanks! :)

I've had a clownfish do something like that but never a psuedochromis. Doesn't mean it's a weird behavior though. I have fish that will play in the current from a powerhead, a lawnmower blenny that played with my cat and also did not like snails to be on the glass (he would grab ahold of their shells and shake....if they released, he carried them across the tank and spit them out), and all sorts of other unusual behavior.

Hahaha hmmm...well there's no one for him to love in there, so I dunno if that's it! Plus, he is very anti social. ;)

Haha my midas blenny hates snails being close to his "hole" so he manually removes them. It's so cute!

Yeah, I'm not worried about the behavior, just curious as to what it could mean.

    Thanks for the input!
