Anyone got any ideas what this is (starfish thing - is bright blue about 1 cm wide), also wondering what the clear stringy thing is - have posted about these before.

    Many Thanks

the starfish looks like an asterina, usually not too bad, eat algae, but may reproduce very rapidly and overtake your tank. I forget what the clear stringy thing is, I think it is bad, it can sting corals and spread throughout your tank. I will see if I can get a name on it, hopefully it's what I think it is. If not, disregard this info.

It's a little six arm hitch hiker starfish. Asterina to be exact (GuitarMan beat me). We had one of those little guys show up for a few days...haven't seen him since then. They're not a problem.

The asterina is eating your coralline (noticeably unless, that is cyanobacteria it's eating.) and the other is a digitate hydroid.
