Weird things happenening...Possible cause

Maybe I'm being a bit thick here (wouldn't be the first time) but aren't you just talking about earthing the tank?

Take a piece of wire, one end goes to tank, other end to a radiator. Job done.

 

Good idea swede, is this possible guru's , i mean would the wire not get rusty or pollute the tank?

Look for a titanium or 316 S.Steel Bicycle spoke and a water proof heat shrink they have a rubber lining that will melt and ooze out when you heat them to shrink them onto the connection Take a wire and wrap it around the spoke and shrink it then just connect the bare end to a know source of path to ground U/K I really don't understand or know the wiring codes or methods as its 240 V for everything and 50 cycles . But in the states the screw that holds the receptacle covers on a good I just wrap the wire there and tighten the screw .

 

Did any metal fall into your tank. Have you been doing any work up top. A penny perhaps?

What about having drunk friends over that play a joke that your tank is a wishing well??? Don't say it doesn't happen because KOgle had it happen. Better check!

 

buddy of mine has a oceanic hex tank that's FW, like a 48g or something weird

anyway one of his drunk friends though it'd be cool to see a bud light bottle floating in it

killed everything in the tank

I told him if someone did that to my reef tank they'd end up floating in it too
