So I was watching my tank the other night with a flash light and noticed that in a hole that my anemone is anchored there was something moving.. seems to be a small tunnel or something and there was a worm poking its head out and eating stuff! Dont really know how to describe it, but I will try.Dotn have any pics because everytime the light would shine on it, it would go back in its hole.. It was round, brownish, greyish green.. looked like an earthworm except alot skinnier.. it would come out and put something in its mouth but when it went back in its hole, it wouldnt move itself, it would roll up into itself, it that makes sense.. it extended about 1 to 1.5 inches before rolling up into itself. I also saw another one in a small hole, but couldnt really get a good look at it.. seemed to be the same thing though... are these bad ?

    peanut worm

This is amusing to me, this is how I discovered this great place called 3reef. I discovered these ugly buzzards with a flash light one night and they grossed me out!!!!!… So I decided to do some research on them… then I found 3reef. I still don’t like them. This sounds like them though, they are exceptionally responsive to light and movement (very fast). I tried at first to kill them but after reading and researching...hmm. Peanut worms (Phascolosoma agassizii) are in all actuality relatively helpful to cleaning your tank during nocturnal times, they are good at feeding on microscopic organisms. They are very stretchy with a mouth on the end and can multiply their length several times there condensed length of what you see poking out of your rock. I don’t like them but I’m doing my best to live with them. :smug2:

Here is a pic of what they look like:

Although it is fat on one end I think this might be it

I think that is them Chris.. I searched it and from what I have seen the top part looks like that..

muecyl.. they are VERY responsive to light.. I have to wait a few minutes... shine the light and then they are gone ! I have seen the fat part on the bottom of that pic, but I probably never will.. I thought about waiting for it to come out and cutting its head off, but I didnt want to waste my time.. they just look nasty

there good for your tank, you want all kinds of creepy crawlies in there.

Mario, get a piece of red selafane and put it over the flash light, auto supplies have it for when your too cheep to replace a busted tail light cover. your nocturnal creatures dont see red light very well, so you can look all night with out disturbing a thing
