I was just looking at my tank when I heard a few drips. Sure enough..back right corner of my stand is wet and is dripping around 2 drips/sec. I checked every possibility I could think of. Not happy at all. I'm not going to be able to do anything until next week so I guess all I can do for now is throw a towel down and keep an eye on my salinity until I can get a new tank. Maaaan this sucks. Right after I spent a pretty good bit on a calcium reactor. Oh well..I don't think it will end up being that big of a deal swapping tanks..should be able to knock it out in an afternoon.

Edit: I think I may go with acrylic.

Oh no, this is horrible!! A huge fear of mine. I'm really sorry to read this. I hope nothing dramatic happens!

I'm getting kind of nervous..something is only as strong as it's weakest point and I really don't want my second story apartment flooded. I think I'm going to go get a new tank tomorrow. I lowered my water level an inch or so and the leaking has stopped..but i'm not risking that.

Ugh...no fun - any chance of dashing out for some aquarium sealant?
Sorry to hear about the leak. I worry about them too.

    good luck!

It sounds like if the water level has been lowered and the leaking stopped you could just add silicone?.?. Or is it cracked?

I feel your pain all too well. I had my 55 spring a leak on the bottom pane and 10 gal sump leak on the bottom as well on separate occasions. It's not fun for sure. I broke down my setup, wet-vac'd my carpet and ran two fans across the spot for 24 hours before setting it back up. Really hope you don't have to do this but I worried about mold and ruining the carpet underneath. Hope your leak isn't too bad, did you catch it before it got your carpet wet or are you setup on concrete/hardwood?

Maybe you could funnel or direct the leak into a container and have your ATO pull from that instead of fresh to keep the tank filled until you can get a replacement?

    Good luck

Not to make light of this, but thank God it is a 36g. As you said, you can probably knock it out in an afternoon. I cant imagine that happening on my 150g. Sounds like a good chance to upgrade!!!!!
