Man that blows... my nightmares usually start with dripping sounds.

What brand tank is it, how old, etc?

I just shelled out an extra $300 for a stand I'm never going to use just to get the life time warranty on my 180g tank I got recently... just for this type of occurrence.

Good luck with the tank swap, hope the floor is good and all that!

The plastic on the top frame is showing signs of stress. I'm just going to start fresh.

It wasn't leaking bad..like I said..just a drip every couple of seconds..but enough for concern that's for sure..I threw a towel down just in case.

You're exactly right! But no upgrades..the 36 fits perfect in my room and my lighting wouldn't really work for anything else. I'm happy with a 36.

Quite a few people are looking at this thread so I'll just ask here..

Does anyone know if acrylic tanks would work with an overflow box? I read that the seaclear has a slot where you can put a HOB filter, but I can't find any pictures of it.

That sucks, but on the bright side you can upgrade, rearrange and make your dream scape.

The ones I have seen make me think no. Take a measurement of your box's width at the support and see if it can fit on the tank you are interested in. This would only work if you can tank the box apart.

I'm not sure of any irr, i'm not that familiar with acrylic tanks. I do know though that the one that was given to me to use as a sump had a built in overflow box in the back corner, then a durso style drain straight through the bottom.
The top of mine has a build in bracing component with smaller cut outs to access the tank. Honestly though, it has tons of scratches and a bunch of those stress fractures all over both faces (front and rear). And both faces are permanently bowed outward. It looks as it it got hot at some point, i'm guesing from MH lights or similar.?.? By the looks of mine i prefer glass tanks. But i'm not trying to talk you out of one by any means. Just thought i'd share. Looking forward to a "tank swap" thread though:)

Dont all acrylic tanks come with a built in overflow? both mine came with one and i never asked for them to be put in i just assumed they came installed and they did. You will be happy with your acrylic just clean the bottom half the panels last and always wash out the cleaning pad to get out any sand, ect...
Sorry to hear about the leak tho. bummer.
