Would I be able to use well water in my tank. It's a little more economical. Idk has anyone ever done that before and find any differences? ::)

I use well water... But I've never used RO either, so I cant really compare. No huge issues.

I actually put so into a brita filter then dumped that into a 5 gallon and will let it sit out for a day with a little bit of ph boost. You think that would be any good?

I acually tested a brita filter and my phos were off the chart. Phos is used to take out chorine in drinking water. I would skip the filter.

water can vary from place to place... I'd test your well water for the following:

TDS - if above 10, then be concerned (actually anything above zero should be a concern for a reef).

Nitrates - These should be zero or as close to zero as possible.

    Phosphates - same as above

There's no telling what else could be in your "well water". Remember this is ground water, and any "minerals" can be picked up with it, including toxic metals like copper or arsenic...

Unless you're going to test it fully, I'd stay away from it... 'economical' does not go well with reef tanks...

as a rule of thumb there's the best way, the economical way, and the reef way - pick two (as long as you don't pick the economical way) and you'll be fine. ;)
