Iron is visible as red, yellow or pink stains on plumbing fixtures and in standing water suc has a toilet. Iron is not so much a health concern as it is an asthetic problem. I would be much more concerned about things like coliform bacteria from nearby septic systems or surface water influence, ammonia, nitrates and nitrites again from septic tanks, leach fields or irrigated lawns or agricultural fields and run off or even organic chemicals from leaking fuel storage tanks, fertilizers or nearby factories or industrial complexes. Those are all health concerns and very common with older domestic wells in unincorporated and rural areas of the country. Iron is easily dealt with, other things are tougher.

It was sent out and analized it took a few days. I personally buy gallons of water at the store and dont drink the water here at all. I have every intention of putting a water filter on the house. I too do not trust those salesman. I own a landscape and pond, fountain, and water feature company and know what to look for exp like you mentioned from irragation systems. We work with a ton of well customers on landscape aspects that run a well.
